New Delhi, Mar 08 (ANI): The US joined hands with New Delhi to eradicate tuberculosis from India, which has the world's largest number of tuberculosis patients. US envoy to India, Richard R Verma, hosted a reception at the New Delhi embassy to mark the collaboration between the two countries. India plans to release the results of it’s first-ever survey mapping the prevalence of drug-resistant TB by December this year. Superstar Amitabh Bachchan, who is also the brand ambassador of Indian Government’s tuberculosis programme, was also present on the occasion. While India has an estimated 2.1 million TB patients, only half of them are under the national programme.
