This is an English update of our adaptation/contextualization of the Japanese song Who Can Satisfy. This translation into English basically adds the prodigal son parable as a motif to the English lyrics in order to increase the word count, necessary in Japanese to English translation - unless you use mere lyrics repetition. Using great love and exuberant praise of God as the original writer thematic basis, these English lyrics extend the same type of love and worship of God to all fathers. English lyrics do it in a more lengthy manner than the Japanese - a natural, grammatical requirement in English lyrical translation from the Japanese. Natsuda Toda, the famous English/Japanese movie subtitler, said the same image is the key. To meaningfully double the English word count, we add the motif of a wayward son and his impressions of the unconditional, accepting love of his father and the reception he receives upon his return home. It is still about great love and praise of God; just through the prodigal narrative. Here in the narration of the song, the reference changes from the particular of the prodigal son's past tense of his very loving father to our present. It is still singing in great appreciation of God our Father as it is in Who Can Satisfy, but using a key change and not just lyrics to actually accomplish the view upwards at God. As eminent subtitles translator Natsuko Toda in Japan once said, translation between Japanese and English is all about reflecting the writer's image. We have to do that without being tediously repetitious to maintain the praise-worship theme.
