Welcome to the Nurburgring for the one make race BMW 1 Series event. Apologies for the couple of skips in the recording which was down to my editing software having a minor brain fart.
Having chosen to drive the BMW Concept 1 Series tii '07, I was surprised not to see more of them on the grid. I didn't drive the cleanest of races and what I had anticipated would be an easy enough 5 laps turned out to be a bit more work than expected. Only upgrades to the car were hard sports tyres and an uprated engine management computer/chip.
By lap 4, following my usual silly mistakes, I was still sitting in third and some way off the leading group and it looked as though catching and passing them was going to come down to another last lap effort.
The BMW Concept 1 Series tii was definitely the right car for the race, easily overpowering the 120d and 120i models but quite closely matched to the regular production 135i Coupes.
