New Delhi, March 31 (ANI): Even though Anurag Kashyap’s `Bombay Velvet` proved to be a disaster at the domestic box-office, it did not stop the film-maker to courageously send the film to the 63rd National Awards. The National Awards committee never spilled the list of nominees online but, if the sources are to be believed, Anurag’s production house Phantom did submit the flop movie to give it a shot. Phantom also sent their flop films ‘Shaandaar’ and ‘Hunterr’ to the committee. Also, Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani submitted ‘Bangistan’ as they felt it was worthy of a National Award. On the other hand, R Balki submitted ‘Shamitabh’ which starred Amitabh Bachchan, Dhanush and Akshara Haasan. Even films like ‘Miss Tanakpur Haazir Ho’, ‘Chauthi Koot’, ‘Toba Tek Singh’, ‘Mumbai Central’ and ‘Nil Battey Sannata’ tried their luck. Out of 308 films, the top honours went to six of Bollywood’s best movies of 2015 – ‘Piku’, ‘Tanu Weds Manu Returns’, ‘Bajirao Mastani’, ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’, ‘Dum Laga Ke Haisha’ and ‘Masaan.’
