A Belgian court decided on Thursday (March 31) that Paris attacks suspect Salah Abdeslam could be extradited to France, Belgium's federal prosecutors said.
Abdeslam has been charged by Belgian prosecutors with "participation in terrorist murder" and faces a European arrest warrant issued by France. This warrant is a procedure reserved for European Union member states that speeds up the traditional extradition process by preventing government authorities from blocking any transfer.
One of his lawyers, Cedric Moisse, said he believed there was nothing preventing Abdeslam's extradition to France.
