In April 2013, Laxmi was waiting for a bus in a crowded Central Delhi area in daytime when a man approached her with his brother's girlfriend. Before she knew it, they had flung her on the road, pinned her down and threw acid on her face.
Laxmi survived the attack and has been the bold face in advocating the prevention of such crimes in India. She speaks about the day she was attacked and how her life has changed after the incident.
