A 6.2 magnitude earthquake struck southern Japan on Thursday, April 14. The earthquake struck the Kumamoto prefecture and surrounding areas around 9.26pm, and there were widespread reports of damages elsewhere as well.
This video, shot by Noel Vincent, an American who lives in Kumamoto, was recorded in a public park in downtown Kumamoto shortly after the earthquake.
