Dramatic footage has emerged from China of a massive tornado tearing through a part of southern China.

The video, filmed in Shantou, Guangdong Province last Sunday, shows the twister, which reportedly damaged more than 300 buildings and injured at least six people.

The footage also shows the aftermath of the storm with debris strewn across a town and roofs blown off buildings.
