Nou Vin Lakay, is the name of the winner of the 4th edition of the Rotototom Reggae Contest Latino, which in Creole means “from home”. The group was formed in 2004 in Caracas with the objective of enriching their reggae, hip hop and ragamuffin styles with the sounds the Caribbean. Their debut disc, “De la casa”, came out in 2004. For their second CD, “Evolu-Zion”, edited in 2009 they collaborated with Venezuelan artists like Onechot and the Colombians Alerta Kamarada. Indeed it was in Colombia that Nou Vin Lakay performed for the first time outside of Venezuela in 2008, and they triumphed. They have also performed in Europe as guests of the Foundation Reggae Festival in A Coruña in 2008, performing alongside the likes of reggae greats such as Michael Rose or Stephen Marley.
