Israelis commemorated the six million Jews killed by the Nazis during World War Two on Thursday. Bruce, a somber day of remembrance in Israel.

Yes, many people in Jerusalem paused to hear the wail of a siren... echoing through the streets in commemoration of those killed.

The night before, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed there would not be another Holocaust
He says incitement among Jews has been common among Muslims and Arabs as well as in Western countries.

"They join hands to distribute the anti-Semitic virus against one target: Against us, against the state of Israel, the only real democracy in the Middle East."

Hundreds attended the memorial ceremony in the Yad Vashem Holocaust museum, to remember the Jews and millions of others murdered during World War Two.

Bruce, these ceremonies as a means to remember are becoming more imperative... as few holocaust survivors remain alive today.

That's right. Less than 200,000 Holocaust survivors were believed to be alive in Israel in 2015... and about 40 are believed to die every day.

Preserving their stories is one way to make sure something like that never happens again. Thanks for your coverage tonight, Bruce.
