Ernest Hemingway has famously said there are only three sports: bullfighting, mountaineering and motor racing and, though not everyone is not of the same mind, the last one cannot be dismissed.

Nor the fact that motor racing requires courage, and mentally and physically strong characteristics to overcome what it throws at you.

Although you can’t compare the extend of physical strain of every motorsport discipline (each affecting the participants in a different way), endurance racing is one of the most grueling and exhausting disciplines out there, as it involves driving hard for prolonged periods of time.

That’s why racing drivers train their bodies and minds to become fit, and Ford is showing us exactly what its drivers need to do in preparation for the most energy-draining race of them all: Le Mans.

So, in their daily 2.5-hour exercise session (not including the 20-minute warm-up) the drivers are training to cope with the G-forces that occur during a race, working their neck muscles and everything in between.
