Veerappan (None Like Him Ever Existed) is a 2016 Indian biographical film written and directed by Ram Gopal Varma, based on the life of Indian bandit Veerappan, and the events leading to Operation Cocoon to capture and kill Veerappan. The theatrical trailer of the film, was released on 18 April 2016 to positive reviews.The film stars Sandeep Bharadwaj, Sachiin J Joshi, Usha Jadhav, and Lisa Ray in pivotal roles.
The film is heavily based on Ram Gopal Varma's Kannada docudrama super-hit Killing Veerappan, and hence the Hindi version too has raised hopes of a good show at the box office. In an Interview with "Indian Express" Varma stated that “Making Veerappan is not about glorifying a criminal, but it is to put a mirror to how he was allowed to happen in the first place”. The CBFC has cleared the film with a single cut, and the film was released on May 27, 2016. Upon its release, Veerappan received positive reviews with critics praising narration, production design, direction and performances of Sandeep Bharadwaj, and Usha Jadav. "Deccan Chronicle" wrote "RGV has found his long lost Mojo".
