Peace process goes on in Syria, although a final solution is still difficult and tedious. Nevertheless, cooperation between the U.S. and Russia has more chance for meaningful talks. The variant regional interests have further complicated the conflict.
Iraq presents a different scene. The IS is curtailed to some extent while the Iraqi government is gearing up for more territorial control over the area. The Iranian forces are playing a positive role to help the Iraqi government.
