This also happened during Velomobieltreffen 2016 in northern Belgium: the rider in front of me didn't see the short cement post sticking out of the ground, hit it and keeled over - a mere 200 yards from the end of the tour. Talk about bad luck!

Still, no real harm done to either the rider or his machine - although I suspect the rider's pride is a bit wounded :)
