A 40-year-old man in Northeast Philadelphia was arrested on Sunday evening in connection to the fatal shooting of his girlfriend, notes WPVI.
WTXF is reporting that the alleged weapon used in the killing was a specialty crossbow intended for hunting large game at great distances.
According to authorities, the bolt was shot at close range and traveled through the 42-year-old victim’s chest and a sofa before becoming lodged in a wall.
The woman was able to make it to the door of a neighbor’s home before collapsing, notes WCAU.
She was rushed to the hospital but pronounced dead shortly after arriving.
According to KYW, motive for the killing has not been established, but the alleged shooter has been reported for domestic violence in the past.
The names of those involved have not yet been released.
