That's almost exactly the opposite of what we have been told when getting involved in a network marketing business. You see, of course the company you signed up with is going to want you to promote and 'brand' them because it makes them look good and they get more free exposure because you (and the other reps) are the one doing all the legwork to bring people in.
But, did they teach you how to 'brand' and promote YOURSELF in the process?!
Most likely not, right? So, in essence all you are really doing when promoting a network marketing company - is making them the center of attention and getting their name out there, and having nothing coming or no one truly attacted to YOU - the most important part of the equation.
Then, if all people are attracted to is some company or some compensation plan or product - if/when that company or product falls short OR a better one come across their mind - they will leave you in a heartbeat for the latest and greatest because they were never really attached to you in the first place.
You see, when you learn to promote and brand yourself - network marketing companies become secondary.
YOU decide which one(s) you work with, and YOU decide which direction you will lead your prospects in - because if you are leading people to YOU first, you have much more control over your business and what your prospects will do.
Also, think of how you would stand out as a true independent professional and marketer. You see, anyone can promote and brand a company - in fact many people get so caught up in doing so that they look like crazy member of the "XYZ Company" cult!
You don't want that. You want people attracted to YOU, and you want them to come to you - as opposed to all the other thousands of reps in your company. In order to do that, you MUST be different and learn how to market, promote, ...
