HOWELL COUNTY, MISSOURI — Unbearlievable dashcam footage caught by a state trooper’s patrol car shows the moment a bear got hit by a truck while running across a busy highway.
The video, posted to Facebook by the Missouri State Highway Patrol, shows the bear running straight across the median and into traffic on the U.S. Route 60 highway without even taking paws for thought.
Amazingly, the bear was unharmed after making his little boo-boo and running straight into the side of a pickup truck.
Black bears are native to Missouri but were nearly wiped out during America’s westward expansion. They are are making a comeback, however, and there’s been plenty of black bear sightings in recent years near Route 60, according to the Missouri Department of Conservation.
So if you’re driving in the area, watch out for bears crossing the road. You know we just couldn’t bear it, if any more more wild animals got hurt.
