Andy Murray wins gold medal at Rio Olympics
Andy Murray has won the gold medal in the Summer Olympics' men's singles tennis match.
The Scottish tennis legend won 3-1 on Sunday against Argentina's Juan Martín del Potro.
Murray, 29, and Martín del Potro, 27, defeated Japan's Kei Nishikori and Spain's Rafael Nadal, respectively, in the semifinal round to compete for the gold on Sunday.
The marks the British player's second consecutive gold medal for this event as he took home the top honor during the London 2012 Games. That victory was probably part of the reason that Murray was selected as Team U.K.'s flag bearer at this year's Opening Ceremonies.
