Residents in Van Buren county, Michigan said they could feel their homes shaking as a severe storm system slammed the region on Saturday (August 20).
The National Weather Service reported "indications of tornados", U.S. broadcaster NBC said, but none were confirmed. Resident Shelley Hartman, however, said the storm was like a tornado funnel that picked up a truck and threw it on its side as it moved through the county.
"When I saw that thing circling around like that, I have watched the Wizard of Oz, and I know what a twister looks like," Hartman, a farm owner, told local media.
The storm scattered a pile of plastic crates around Hartman's blueberry farm, uprooted trees and knocked down power lines.
There were no injuries reported, but forecasters predict the bad weather to continue overnight.
