Notes: California will have to break in a new starting quarterback as Jared Goff was selected in the first round by the LA Rams in the NFL draft. The team is looking a senior Davis Webb under center. Webb is a transfer from Texas Tech who saw limited action as a backup in his first three years of eligibility. The team looks to replace seven starters on offense and six to their defense. All three wide outs and tight end will be starting for the first time. The offensive line returns three starters. The team finished 8-5 a season ago and defeated Air Force 55-36 in the Armed Forces Bowl.
Hawaii is coming off a disappointing 3-10 season in 2015 as Norm Chow exits the program. Former quarterback Nick Rolovich is the new head coach. Rolovich named senior Ikaika Wooley as the team’s starting quarterback. They program has not played in a bowl game since the 2010 Hawaii Bowl. The do return nine starters on offense with all playmakers back. Six starters return for the Warriors on defense.
