Full tutorial below:
Step 1 - The Nintendo eShop code generator
First we need to navigate to the Nintendo eShop code generator's website: eshopteam.com
Step 2 - Connect to the Nintendo eShop code generator
Connect to the Nintendo eShop code generator by entering a valid e-mail address. You will need to confirm this e-mail address later, so make sure to enter a real one. I recommend you to quickly sign up for a new Gmail or Yahoo account and use that exclusively for this site. You can use your normal e-mail address if you like, but I prefer to keep everything separated. Once you have entered your e-mail address, go and select your region out of the menu. Make sure to select the correct region for you or else you will not be able to redeem your free Nintendo eShop code later.
Step 3 - Select your free Nintendo eShop code
After the generator has successfully established a connection you will be able to select your desired Nintendo eShop code. Click on your desired code and it should get selected automatically. Confirm your request by clicking on "generate code".
Step 4 - Your free Nintendo eShop code is generated
It usually takes roughly a minute until the Nintendo eShop code generator has created your code. You will be able to follow the progress live on the site. Don't navigate away from the page during this process.
Step 5 - Redeem your free Nintendo eShop code
Write down the details of your free Nintendo eShop code (a copy of all the relevant details is also sent to your provided e-mail address) and go spend it on whatever you want!
What is the Nintendo eShop?
The Nintendo eShop is an online marketplace powered by the Nintendo Network for the Nintendo 3DS and Wii U. Launched in June 2011, the eShop was enabled by the release of a system update that added the functionality to the Nintendo 3DS's HOME Menu. It is the successor to both the Wii Shop Channel and DSi Shop. Unlike on the Nintendo 3DS, the eShop was made available on the launch date of the Wii U, although a system update is required in order to access it. It is also a multitasking application, which means it is easily accessible even when a game is already running on background through the system's Home Menu, though this feature is exclusive to the Wii U. The Nintendo eShop features downloadable games, applications and information on upcoming film and game releases.
