NEW YORK — There have been rumblings throughout the gaming world for months about developments for the PlayStation console, and gamers will be happy to know new ground has finally been broken. On Sept. 7, CEO of the gaming division, Andrew House, drew the curtains to reveal the new PlayStation 4 Pro, a bigger, more powerful version of the current PS4.

The new console, which was previously codenamed PlayStation Neo, will feature games at 4K resolution, along with high-dynamic range color, with the caveat being that gamers will naturally need a television that supports both 4K and HDR to enjoy these new developments. The new console, on sale November 10, will cost $399, but it will also offer double the hard drive space to a full TB.

New games demo’d to offer fans a taste of 4K gameplay included Spider-Man, Mass Effect: Andromeda, Watch Dogs 2, and Rise of The Tomb Raider.

In addition to the most powerful gaming console ever created, Sony will also roll out a slimmer version of the current PS4. An announcement was also made to formally introduce the long-anticipated PlayStation VR, which will be on store shelves Oct. 13.
