MELTHAM, ENGLAND — A housecat named Fleur is lucky to be alive after she had to have a steel bolt removed from her leg.
On the night of September 4, the cat had been walking around her neighborhood when it was targeted by an unknown assailant. Fleur was shot in the leg, the metal bolt piercing through her back right leg.
Somehow, the tough-as-nails cat not only survived, but managed to limp home, through the house cat flap and into its bed. When Fleur’s owners found her, she was clearly experiencing discomfort and shock from her wound. The cat was rushed to emergency veterinary care, where surgeons said had the bolt struck any other part of her body, she would have died.
Fleur’s owners are urging the public to help them track down the cat hunter, who is believed to still be a threat to animals in the neighborhood.
