Fermented herring just sounds like a tasty treat — not. Many believe that the "smelliest food in the world" is that bizarrely fermented fish. Apparently, preserved herring is a Swedish speciality, but don't try to bring any home with you. Most airlines globally have banned passengers from transporting fermented herring, because there is a fear that if the can exploded the smell would lead to plane evacuations.
This brave man drank the broth, even though it's actually recommended to open the can underwater, rinse the fish off, and place the herring on a sandwich. Yum!
