New Delhi, Sep 14 (ANI): Delhi attracts thousands of students and professionals from around the country every year, who make their way to the capital in search of better education and opportunities. Delhi is also home to a large number of youths from the northeast. Several groups have been formed that bring the northeasterners together to preserve and experience their ethnic culture. Recently, the North East Student Society, Delhi University (NESSDU), organised a northeastern cultural extravaganza that saw a huge turnout, especially from the student community. Enthralling the crowds, the glittering event showcased the elegant movements of Leima traditional dance from Manipur. Bihu dance from Assam and other traditional dances from Arunachal Pradesh and other states captivated the crowds. Well-known Bollywood actress Mahima Chaudhary also graced the occasion and made the event livelier. Many regional bands also enthralled audiences at the event, showcasing the region’s craze for music. Such occasions not only promote the rich heritage of the region, but also provide a platform for those from the region and all.
