New Delhi, Sep 17 (ANI): In a bid to convince Yoga guru Ramdev to directly procure turmeric produce from the Telangana farmers and establish a Patanjali Spices Plant in Nizamabad district, Member of Parliament (MP) K. Kavitha met him on Friday. A leader of Telangana Rashtra Samithi, Kavitha, handed over a letter seeking the yoga guru's support for the welfare of the farmer community. Citing Patanjali Group's initiative of procuring pomegranates directly from Gujarat farmers and establish Nagpur orange processing plant, the Telangana legislator wrote: "The Telangana State Government has worked extremely hard to provide irrigation facilities, timely disbursal of seeds, fertilizers and other inputs for the benefit of farmers. However, to take this initiative to its logical conclusion, it is imperative that there is a steady buyer who is able to procure the produce from the farmers on time." She further mentioned: "I firmly believe that the core values which the Patanjali Group under your able, dynamic and visionary leadership has become famous today across the world is best positioned to understand the requirements of the turmeric farmers in Telangana." After the meeting, Yoga guru Ramdev assured his support to Kavitha's proposal. K. Kavitha, earlier this month, inaugurated Telangana Jagruthi Skill Development Centre in Hyderabad, which aims to employ maximum number of youth.
