"The Forever War" by Joe Haldeman was first published in 1974. It is a military science fiction novel. The novel is about an interstellar war between Man and the Taurans.

The novel was the winner of the Nebula Award in 1975. It also received the Hugo and the Locus Awards in 1976. "The Forever War" is the first of the novels in SF Masterworks series.
