Donald Trump finds it "sad" that New York and New Jersey bombing suspect Ahmad Khan Rahami has access to hospital care and a lawyer.
On Monday, New York and New Jersey bombing suspect Ahmad Khan Rahami was shot before being taken into custody.
As such, he was taken to a hospital and, in regards to the alleged crimes, is entitled to legal representation.
Donald Trump finds that ‘sad.’
In speaking to a crowd in Fort Myers, Florida on Monday, Trump said, “But the bad part…now we will give him amazing hospitalization…And he'll probably even have room service, knowing the way our country is."
He continued, “And on top of all that, he will be represented by an outstanding lawyer. His case will go through the various court systems for years…What a sad situation.”
Notably, citizens’ rights to attorneys and due process are outlined in the US Constitution.
