Hi everyone thanks for checking out my review on the T-fal 14 piece ceramic cookware set. If you like this set, I put a link above where you can pick it up for the best price over on Amazon. I cook a lot at home because I love cooking, it’s healthier and it saves money. I grew up using Teflon coated pots and pans as I’m sure most people did. They are everywhere and they work good however the material they use, polytetrafluoroethlene (PTFE) for short releases toxic gasses when heated at higher temperatures that have been linked to cancer, organ failure, reproductive damage, and other harmful health effects. I’ve even heard rumors that the government is planning on banning the production of this type of cookware in 2015. That alone is enough to make me toss all my old pots and upgrade to something new. I tried switching to cast iron and stainless steel but everything stuck to the bottom and these types of pans are a pain to clean. I did tons of research of found Ceramic. I’ve bought some cheap ceramic pans from TJmax and Ross without much luck; they worked good at first but quickly stained and chipped. I finally decided to invest in a nicer set from a trust brand. I tried T-fal and I will never use anything else. I’m really happy with the quality and how well they perform. I’ve been using them for a month now and the non-stick ceramic works wonders!
Ceramic doesn’t have any PTFE, PFOA or Cadmium like so many other pans on the market! It’s made of a water based natural ceramic coating. They are safe for all stove tops like gas, electric, and induction. With these I don’t have to worry about cooking at higher temperatures or using extra oil to prevent food from sticking. I was blown away at how my scrambled eggs came out evenly fluffy and slid right out of the pan after cooking them. I just used a little warm water and a sponge and it was clean, absolutely nothing stuck. With my old Teflon pan there would be hot spot and overcooked crispy edges that took a lot of extra time to clean.
Just like with Teflon, you want to make sure not to use metal utensils with Ceramic cookware! That includes forks, spoons, and knives! I really like the utensils that were included, they’re nothing fancy but they work!.
A few simple tips will keep your pots and pans lasting a long time.
Never wash your pans immediately after cooking! The sudden temperature drop will cause the metal to warp. Let them cool down before washing them! If you stack your pots and pans, make sure to put a barrier between them. You can use oven glove, paper towels, or wash clothes to prevent metal on metal contact.
Don’t put these in the dish washer. They’re easy to clean by hand and they take up way too much space anyways!
The extra money I paid for these T-Fal Ceramic pots and pans definitely paid off.
