Over the weekend, many gathered for Indiana’s Aurora Farmers Fair Parade, but not all of them enjoyed the event.
The moods of some attendees were dampened by a float showing Hillary Clinton sitting in an electric chair and Donald Trump flipping the switch.
Also featured on the display was an Easter Island-type head that was painted black and accompanied by a sign reading ‘Obama.’
Area resident Penny Britton shared the image of the parade entry on Facebook along with the message, “Who thinks this is appropriate for a fair parade where CHILDREN, SOME OF THEM MINORITIES AND GIRLS, are marching and playing instruments and watching?…This makes me embarrassed to say I live here.”
Frank Linkemeyer, the individual allegedly responsible for the float, later spoke with WCPO and sort of apologized.
He said, “It’s all in fun. Laughter is the best medicine in life and this country needs more laughter — and the people that are offended by it, I’m sorry. Don’t come to the parade next time."
