On Thursday, CNN/ORC released its latest poll on how the US views President Obama. It shows the nation’s leader has an overall approval rating of 55%, the highest throughout his second term.

It shows the nation’s leader has an overall approval rating of 55%, the highest throughout his second term. 
Democrats showed a great deal more love than in previous polls, pushing the number up 12 points to 89%. 
Independents responded similarly, resulting in a 14-point increase to 56%. 
Among Republicans, the rise in enthusiasm was less pronounced, climbing only 2 points to 13%. 
Obama’s new numbers put him very close to the second term approval ratings of Bill Clinton. 
They also land well above those given to George W. Bush.
