Vicky tricks Matthew into leaving the shop so the puppets can plan a birthday surprise for him. Everything goes wrong, including Vicky getting covered in cake mix and having to wear a monkey suit. When Matthew returns, all the puppets are upset because everything has gone wrong, so Matthew uses Sooty's magic wand to transform the scene into a big birthday party, and they all have a wonderful time.
