The central Vietnamese province of Quang Binh was hard hit by flooding on October 15-16. At least 18 people in central Vietnam were killed as floodwater swamped homes, farms and blocked road and rail travel from north-south, according to local media. This drone footage shows the extent of flooding in Dong Hoi city, which is located around 300 miles south of Hanoi.
The flooding comes ahead of Typhoon Sarika, which forecasters warn could make landfall near Hanoi later this week, after passing over Luzon in the Philippines on Sunday, according to Vietnam’s National Centre for Hydro-Meteorological Forecastings. Credit: YouTube/Nguyen Quang Huy
