MLB 16 The Show Wiki:
MLB The Show 16 is a Major League Baseball video game developed by Sony San Diego and published by Sony Computer Entertainment. It is the eleventh entry of the MLB: The Show franchise, and was released on March 29, 2016, for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4. It is the first MLB: The Show entry to not have a portable version. Toronto Blue Jays third baseman and 2015 American League MVP Josh Donaldson is the main cover athlete for the game. He also appears on the separate Canadian cover edition, making him the first player to be on both the American and Canadian versions of the game. Jung-ho Kang of the Pittsburgh Pirates and Wei-Yin Chen of the Miami Marlins appear on the Korean and Taiwanese covers, respectively.
Matt Vasgersian, Eric Karros, and Steve Lyons return as commentators. Mike Carlucci returns as public address announcer.
New Features
The game features more game modes such as Road To The Show, and an all new franchise mode. In addition to features, brand new modes such as Conquest mode and Battle Royale have been added into the game.
Conquest Mode
Conquest Mode takes your Diamond Dynasty team against all 30 MLB teams and their strongholds in order to capture new territories and eventually all of North America. Each territory is inhabited by fans of your team or one of the 30 MLB teams. In order to capture one of the territories, you must attack the territory by either playing a minimum 3 inning game against that team or simulate to avoid playing the game. However, all 30 MLB teams are also trying to capture territories and strongholds which means your team will have to defend its territories and strongholds.
Battle Royale
The other new mode, Battle Royale, is different from Conquest mode because it is player vs player instead of player vs computer. Although you still play a minimum 3 inning game, you now play against other players and their drafted teams. Use 25 rounds to draft your best team to go up against opponents in order to reach the 20 win mark. Reaching the 20 win mark grants you with bonus cards for the accomplishment while 19 wins also grants a bonus, but slightly smaller than the 20 wins. However, lose 2 games and your team is eliminated. Playing Battle Royale the first time is free, but any other entries costs an additional 1,500 stubs.
ShowTime
In addition to Conquest and Battle Royale, ShowTime is another new feature to the game within Road To The Show. Take your player and slow down time in critical in-game situations. ShowTime allows your player to slow down time while batting in clutch situations or making game saving defensive plays.
Camera Views
A new batting camera called "Fish Eye" is now the default batting camera. It is much wider than last year's version of the batting view as it allows the player to see where all the infielders are lined up. It also allows the player to see where the ball goes if the catcher happens to miss the ball.
