We don't know about you but after reading 50 Shades Of Grey, we definitely want in on the action! The Sinclair Institute's Lori Buckley discusses ways to spice up your sex life by exploring the sexy and sultry side of BDSM.
TRANSCRIPT:
Hi, I'm Dr. Lori Buckley with "Ask an
Expert”. I'm a sex and relationship therapist
with The Sinclair Institute and today I'm going to be answering your
sex and intimacy questions. Today’s question is:
"Dear Dr. Lori,
After reading 50 Shades of Grey I'm interested in exploring dominant submissive BDSM. How do I get started?”
Sounds like you want to add some fun and some spice into your sex life and that is always a good idea! When it comes to erotic power-play or BDSM, it IS about fun. It's also about good communication. What I would recommend, a great way to get started is to go out and get a book. Get a book—an instructional book—and read about it so you know that you’re doing everything the way that you want to do it.
But there's a long continuum of ways that you can be erotic in the erotic power-play. Do you wanna be dominant? Do you want to be submissive? Find out which theme works for you, have a top with your partner think of some ways that you can do that.
Maybe you want him to hold down your wrist while you're having sex. Maybe you want a little spanking. Whatever it is, it's all okay as long as nobody is getting hurt and it's consensual.
So get some more information, have some conversations and have some fun!
