Three people were forced to take shelter behind a pillar in Brisbane Airport on November 13 after strong storm swept through southeast Queensland.
Paul Nelson, his son Benny, and his partner were returning home from Cairns when a severe storm with gusts of up to 157 kilometres per hour hit the airport.
The storm around the airport was described by witnesses as “tornado-like,” according to the Courier Mail. The storm has also reportedly knocked out power for around 8,000 homes in the region. Credit: Facebook/Paul Nelson via Storyful
