Farage warns of more political upset if Brexit isn't achieved

Interim UKIP leader Nigel Farage hasn’t taken Donald Trump’s suggestion that he should become Britain’s next ambassador very seriously.

He made that clear on Wednesday night at a party in London’s Ritz hotel celebrating Brexit by handing out Ferrero Rocher chocolates in imitation of a cult TV advert set at an ambassador’s reception.

Rather more predictably Farage then hit out again at Britain’s political class. “The problem we have in this country is that whilst the people have spoken the same players have just been shuffled around the chessboard and we’re still being run by the career professional political class,” he told a gathering of Brexiteers including millionaire Arron Banks who bankrolled the Brexit campaign.

“And I’m not sure what’s going to happen over the course of the next couple of years but I suspect that another big, seismic shock in British politics, perhaps is going to come at the next election,” he added.

Farage went on to say that Britain is in for more political storms if Brexit is not completed by 2020 when the next election is due to be held.
