Passengers were in for a surprise detour after a plane on its way to Orlando stopped in Charleston, after a woman gave birth to her child mid-flight. Southwest Airlines flight 556 left Philadelphia International just before 3 p.m. but landed in South Carolina at 4:30 p.m. when a woman went into labor. Medical personnel on board the flight assisted in the baby's delivery, according to Southwest Airlines. The flight’s remaining 132 passengers stayed on board and arrived to Orlando around 6:30 p.m., only an hour behind schedule.
