Three Florida voters have filed for a hand recount of ballots cast in the state, reports USA Today.
Their lawsuit, which was filed on Monday in Leon Circuit Court, asserts that voting machine malfunctions, hacks, and other issues resulted in an inaccurate tallying and reporting of results.
It also places the responsibility of covering the costs on Donald Trump, Florida’s electors, and the state’s governor, Rick Scott, among others.
Clint Curtis, the attorney for the plaintiffs, told USA Today that there have been a number of complaints about voting difficulties.
Some of those reporting problems say they were denied a ballot as polling place documents indicated they’d already voted.
Curtis acknowledges that the lawsuit is a long shot, but hopes that Trump will back the effort, noting, “He’s mentioned he wants to fix the rigged system. This will give the opportunity to do that.”
