Lenovo-owned Motorola has finally revealed the India launch date of its Moto M smartphone. The company has sent media invites for an event scheduled for December 13.
The Moto M smartphone launched in China last month. The smartphone is the company's first to be powered by MediaTek Helio P15 processor. Its design is similar to the company's current Moto X line-up. It has a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor and a splash-proof metal unibody design.
Moto M features a 5.5-inch Full HD display of 1080x1920 pixel resolution and a pixel density of around 401ppi. The dual-SIM handset is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio P15 CPU, paired with 4GB RAM and 32GB on-board storage. However, it's not clear if the storage is expandable.
For imaging duties, Moto M has a 16MP rear camera with phase detection autofocus and dual-LED flash. There's also an 8MP selfie-shooter on board. The smartphone is backed by 3,050mAh battery with fast-charging support.
Incidentally, Moto M is the first smartphone from Lenovo-owned Motorola to have a circular fingerprint sensor at the back. On the other hand, the recently-launched Moto Z series of smartphones have square-shaped fingerprint sensor placed below the display.
The Lenovo-owned company's latest flagship model to enter India is Moto Z. Launched in October at Rs 39,999, the smartphone is claimed to be the slimmest premium smartphone in the world at 5.2mm. Moto Z Play was also launched in India at the same event costing Rs 24,999.
