A day ago, it had been reported that Hafeez Saeed, the mastermind behind the 26/11 terror attacks, has moved a court in Pakistan to seek a ban on the release of Kabir Khan’s upcoming film ‘Phantom’ in Pakistan.

Today, at a press conference, director Kabir Khan candidly said, “I am aware that whenever a film with a political backdrop comes up, such issues happen. Films like 'Agent Vinod' and 'Bangistan' had faced a ban in Pakistan. But what we are really amused about is that a wanted terrorist is accusing us of spreading poison through this film!”

Lahore High Court Justice Shahid Bilal Hassan heard Saeed's petition and asked the Central Censor Board and the Government to furnish a reply on Saeed's petition during the next hearing on 13 August.

Based on former crime reporter Hussain Zaidi's novel ‘Mumbai Avengers’, 'Phantom', starring Saif Ali Khan and Katrina Kaif, is set in the aftermath of the 26/11 Mumbai attacks and deals with global terrorism.
