Uber is under investigation over claims of employees abusing the company's "God view" tool to spy on personal acquaintances, high profile politicians and celebrities, including Beyonce. According to testimony from Uber's former forensic investigator Samuel Ward Spangenberg -- who is suing over allegations of age discrimination and whistleblower retaliation -- there is a major lack of oversight at the company for customer data. Spangenberg said he voiced concerns about a lack of security and was fired 11 months later, The Guardian reported. In response, Uber confirmed "fewer than 10" employees have been fired for abusing the "God view" tool. It also issued a media statement, saying "we have hundreds of security and privacy experts working around the clock to protect our data. This includes enforcing to authorized employees solely for purposes of their job responsibilities, and all potential violations are quickly and thoroughly investigated."
