Madrid, Dec 15 (EFE), (Camera: Luis Aguilar and Nuria Arranz).- Kazakhstan's embassy in Madrid invited friends and diplomats accredited in the Spanish capital to a festive evening in celebration of the Central Asian nation's twenty-fifth anniversary as a sovereign state.

Kazakhstan gained its independence from what was then the Soviet Union on December 16, 1991 under the leadership of the current Kazakh leader, President Nursultan Nazarbayev.
