The Taken War Questline has very similar bounties as the ones in House of Wolves. You seek out public events, in this case in the cosmodrome (The Divide, Rocketyard or Skywatch) and kill your target.
In the case of The Taken War, there's a bit more to do, so here's the breakdown. First, you will need a fireteam to trigger the champions.
❱ KILL 2 CHAMPIONS
The Champion appears after you killed enough of his minions during the public event. You will need to repeat this event once since there's only one champion spawning.
❱ COLLECT FALLEN AND BLIGHTED ETHER
These are drops from taken and fallen enemies. Simply kill them until you have 25 fallen ether and 15 blighted ether. You should get these automatically during your two public event runs.
❱ FIND CURIOUS OBJECT
You will be awarded with the curious object automatically after killing the champion.
