Finland just rolled out a new trial, giving $600 a month to some of the country's unemployed citizens. The groundbreaking trial intends to help reduce national poverty and aid employment efforts. The Finnish government announced a little over a year ago that it will replace earnings-based social insurance benefits with a basic income. The first monthly payments of about $587 started on January 1, according to the Associated Press.
