Some Frequently asked questions,

1. It shows account does not exist

Ans. Go to your bank and ask them to link your bank account with your mobile number.

NOTE. If msg of bank comes to your mobile no. It does not mean that your mobile is linked with bank.

2.Bank not found

Ans. Some banks are not available till now. Hope they will be added soon.

3.What is mPin or UPI pin

Ans. Mpin or upi pin is 4 digit code that your create with mbanking. If mbanking is not enabled for your account, they will ask you to enter six digit debit card no. Enter it and enter pin of your choice. This will be your mpin.(mpin is different from passcode)

4.What is Payment Address
Ans. Payment address is a particular address address to everyone. Its like email id. you will get a payment address after adding your account to this app. This will be in the form of xxxxxxxxxx@upi here xxxxxxxxxx is your mobile number.

Steps to Set Up Your BHIM app

Go to play store using this link. https://play.google.com/store/apps/de...
Click on Install and wait for download to complete.
Once installed open the app.
Select the prefered language among english and hindi.
Click on NEXT.
Again click on NEXT
If it asks for permissions, click allow.
Tap on “let’s get started”.
Now verify your mobile number.
Make sure that mobile number to get verified is in your phone. Also note same number should be registered with your bank.
Select the sim card in case you have a dual sim mobile.
Click on next.
Your mobile number will be automatically verified.
Enter a 4 digit pass-code.
Confirm the 4 digit pass-code.
Select your bank.
You will get a list of bank accounts registered with the number and bank you selected.
Select the bank account you want to use with this app.

BHIM app, or the Bharat Interface for Money, is the Narendra Modi government’s latest app to push India towards a cashless or ‘less-cash’ society. Prime Minister Narendra Modi today launched the BHIM app, which is available for Android OS. An iOS (Apple) app will be launched soon. According to the government, the BHIM app allows the users to make cashless payments using their mobile phones in a “fest, secure and reliable” way.

The Aadhaar-based payments app has been developed by the National Payment Corporation of India (NPCI). The ‘Made in India’ app is interoperable with other Unified Payment Interface (UPI) applications, and bank accounts.

How to use bhim app?
After downloading the BHIM app from the Play store, the user has to register his/her bank account and set up a UPI Pin for it. The user’s mobile number will become the payment address. Once registered, you can start transacting using the BHIM app.

How can I send or receive money using the BHIM app?
The user can send or receive money from friends, family and customers through a mobile number (payment address). The money can also be sent to non-UPI supported banks. This can be done using MMID and IFSC. The user can also collect money by sending a request and reverse payments if required.

Following are the banks that support the BHIM app. The list is as released by the government: Allahabad Bank, Andhra Bank, Axis Bank, Bank of Baroda, Bank of India, Bank of Maharashtra, Canara Bank, Catholic Syrian Bank, Central Bank of India, DCB Bank, Dena Bank, Federal Bank, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, IDBI Bank, IDFC Bank, Indian Bank, Indian Overseas Bank, IndusInd Bank, Karnataka Bank, Karur Vysya Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Oriental Bank of Commerce, Punjab National Bank, RBL Bank, South Indian Bank, Standard Chartered Bank, State Bank of India, Syndicate Bank, Union Bank of India, United Bank of India, Vijaya Bank.

The user can check his/her balance and make transactions on the go. The user can create a custom payment address in addition to his/her phone number. A QR code can be scanned for faster entry of payment addresses. Merchants can easily print their QR Code for display, the government says. The BHIM app supports Hindi and English languages as of now, but the government plans to launch it in other languages soon.
