SEOUL — The South Korean Ministry of Defense is reportedly creating a hit squad with the sole purpose of taking out North Korean leadership — namely dictator Kim Jong Un and his crony generals — should war break out between the two nations.

Known as the “decapitation unit”, they would sneak into the North during the “event of war” and then begin to target the DPRK’s “wartime command”, reported CNN.

The unit would be part of a “kill chain” operation. If war happens, this would see Seoul deploy anti-missile defences and a “pre-emptive military strike” against Pyongyang, the International Business Times reported, citing a South Korean official.
