LAS VEGAS — Technology company PowerVision has unveiled an underwater drone that can help users to see underwater and may increase efficiency in fishing.
The PowerRay drone was unveiled at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas this week. It has an onboard camera and an optional add-on Fishfinder sonar. The devices can be used together or separately. It can dive to a depth of 98 feet while the sonar can track fish about 131 feet below the drone.
A blue-tinted light is designed to lure fish. The device also as a bait drop function that allows the user to deliver the bait wherever he or she wants.
Users can watch the footage captured by the drone via their cellphones or even via VR goggles.
“PowerRay is going to provide more efficiency, thrill, and fun to fishermen around the world.” Wally Zheng, CEO of PowerVision Technology Group said in a press release.
