According to the Wall Street Journal, Christopher Steele, an ex-MI6 agent who now runs his own London-based security firm, helped to compile the dossier regarding Donald Trump and his unverified connections to Russia. Steele and his firm were also reported to have supplied the FBI with information regarding the corruption in FIFA. Despite its unverified nature, multiple American officials have supported Steele's dossier because of the help he has given them in the past.
