A dramatic video has emerged of a dog rushing across a road as a group of cyclist ascend Mt. Mitchell, NC, USA causing a massive pile up.

The footage, shot last year, captures the moment one of the cyclists hits the dog and falls off his bike forcing others to stop.

According to the filmer, the cyclists were going at around 30.2 mph.

"You can also see NASCAR driver Jimmy Johnson and former Lance Armstrong teammate George Hincapie come around the crash in the grass on the left," he wrote online.
